How to Install Nessus Software on Windows 11
Go to Tenable Nessus Official Website – Nessus
You can Select any Product of them, like:
I have selected the nessus essentials, which is free and can used for educational purposes.
- Sign up for nessus essentials by giving your details, name and business mail
- Follow the steps below shown in the images, click on continue to proceed with the installation.
After you continue, you can see various editions mentioned below:
- Set up a professional Instance of Nessus
- Start a trial of nessus expert
- Start a trial of nessus professional
- register for nessus essentials
- You can select as your desired installation, I am going with nessus essentials, as I don’t have a big asset inventory at my disposal.

- You need to get an activation code, to do so, you need to enter your details
- First Name – Last name – Business email you used at the beginning.
- You will receive an activation code once you enter the details.
- Paste in and Click Continue.
- As you can see the image below, here’s my nessus activation code.
- Nessus Installation takes some time, hence keep patience as it will be downloading essential plugins which are required to perform scans and product capabilities which is being offered.
- Now Create user account for nessus by choosing a username and password
- Submit the credentials and click submit to proceed for final installaltion

- This is Nessus Homepage after the installation which we have performed.
- Now again in the background, Plugins get complied for the functionality to get ready.
- It takes some time, till then you can navigate the UI/UX of Tenable Nessus.
